#1) Try a simple painted glass item:
Before
After
Using leftover paint from a recent painting project, you can turn any glass container (drinking glasses, vases, decanters, bottles & jars) into a lovely display. Just wash it out and swirl some paint in there until the inside surface is completely coated.
Add a single flower and voila! Just hand off to your lovely host. But don't forget...you can't put water in there. So if you want the flower to last, add an old florists' water tube or a damp paper towel to maintain the life of the flower through Thanksgiving dinner. Check out the video tutorial for this project at Canadian House and Home.
#2) Stitched Notecards
Try lightly sketching a design with pencil on a piece of cardstock and then stitching over it like embroidery. You should get something like this bird notecard by Stichographie. If you happen to have an extra picture frame lying around, you can slide your stitched creation in a frame for a nice touch.
#3) When all else fails...there's booze!
Grab a bottle of Prosecco for $5.99 at Trader Joe's and toast to being thankful!
Happy Thanksgiving!
